Cùmath Pet Surgeons was formed with the aim of doing referral veterinary practice better.
We asked local primary care practices what they wanted from a referral practice and received a variety of answers- the vast majority of which we agreed with. These have helped shape our practice’s values which include:

• Have an easy referral process which supports busy primary care practices.

• An ability to offer advice and management for cases on a variety of budgets.

• To communicate effectively to both pet owners and referring practices.

Who we are.

Cùmath Pet Surgeons are an independent practice founded by Scott Rigg and Michelle Murphy. Cùmath (pronounced kooma) is the name of a much loved German Pointer that Scott once owned.

Scott and Michelle previously founded an award winning referral practice in 2015. This practice attracted the attention of a large corporate business and was subsequently sold. After remaining in the business for a number of years both Scott and Michelle decided they preferred to run a practice where they had full control of the direction, pricing and values of the practice, and the idea of Cùmath Pet Surgeons was born.   

With the help of the highly talented surgeon, Kasia Sosnowska, and the experienced nursing/admin team of Jill McHugh, Anne Valentine, Stephanie Simpson, Catherine Kellas, Megan Robertson and Brady Rodger, a high standard of care was set from the start.

We aim to be the best referral practice that we can be.
